Others can be quite expensive and complex in nature and as such are usually procured by medical organizations and large practices.

They may have many equipments as well as variations and may advice in certain cases what to buy and use for the home if you are so inclined. However practicing physiotherapists will usually get their equipments from large dealerships or from the manufacturers themselves especially as some of these can be very costly and will require several years to complete the payments.

Caution in procuring equipment

The equipments that are used for physiotherapy are medical equipments and a lot of research goes into making them. Therefore care must be taken in the purchase of equipments for private use as well as for the treatment of patients. This is because faulty equipment may instead cause harm to the patients that may be detrimental to rehabilitation and may even cost a therapist his practice. Therefore equipments must be obtained from certifiable and reputable sources.

Hydrotherapy equipment

Hydrotherapy is usually used when treatments are employed to patients by totally or partially immersing them in water. This is one of the favored means of treating the young and the old, and also people with delicate conditions like pregnant women. These include; Hydrotherapy tanks and accessories, Whirlpool bath, and chairs for use in these baths.

Electrotherapy equipment

Electrotherapy is physiotherapy equipment that uses mild electrical shocks that are targeted to specific areas of the anatomy to achieve motion and help stimulate motion in the regions that are being treated. Examples of such equipments include; muscle stimulators, and shortwave medical diathermic equipments.

General purpose physiotherapy equipment

These include equipments that are employed in the general practice and some are; examination couches, High-low treatment tables, Manual and electrical Tilt tables and multi exercise units.

There is also physiotherapy equipment that is used for specific parts and they include the shoulder wheel, the arm exerciser, the rotary wrist machine, the grip ball set among others.
